A guided experience to begin your résumé process

Most résumé processes begin with a request: send your CV, fill in a form, list everything you’ve done. This is different.

Before anything is written, there needs to be clarity. Clarity about where you are now, where you want to go, and the value your career already holds. That is what this experience is designed to do.

The Top Margin Method

Reflection → Direction → Evidence → Narrative → Execution

A human-centred framework for thoughtful career movement. First we quiet the noise. Then we decide the direction. Then we find the evidence.

What this experience will do

Over the next stages, you will move through a structured process that asks you to step back from the noise of job searching and think clearly about your next move. You will begin to recognise the true value of your experience, capture the evidence that supports your career, and lay the foundation for a strong professional narrative.

You are not expected to have all the answers immediately. This is not something to rush. Each stage builds on the one before it.

A different way of working

Rather than filling in a single overwhelming workbook, you will move through this experience in small, focused steps: watching or listening, pausing to reflect, capturing a few thoughts, and moving forward with greater clarity. Those reflections will form the foundation of the work we do together.

By the time this process is complete, you will not just have provided information. You will have developed a genuine understanding of your career direction and the evidence that supports it.

Before you begin

Take your time. Strong answers rarely appear in the first few seconds; they emerge when you pause long enough to think properly. Before the page fills up, there is a space for thinking. This is that space.

When you’re ready, begin with Stage 1: Reflection.
