An enote is the new ‘norm’ and the default cover letter as we live in a world with too little time and a lot of distractions. The enote, is an electronic letter—sent in the body of an email or uploaded to a job board. They’re short, sharp and sweet—typically 90 to 120 words and they compel the recruiter to open your resume by presenting the who, what, why and how of the candidate’s message. Every word has power, so it means constant editing to get it down to it’s most powerful minimum.
If I had more time, I would have written a shorter letter.—Blaise Pascal, French Mathematician and Philosopher, 1647
